JORDAN TOURISM HACKATHON 2021

The Jordan Tourism Hackathon 2021 offered opportunities to young entrepreneurs to build their capacities, in order to engage and innovate new prototypes leading to innovative projects and startups in the tourism sector in Jordan. Awarded projects are those contributing to economic development and employment, while respecting Jordan’s natural and cultural wealth. The wider aim of the Hackathon is to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, digitization, and green solutions in tourism to achieve sustainable development, resilience, and economic growth. Maine themes: traditional and alternative tourism, related sectors (e.g. agriculture, transport), innovation, green solutions and inclusion. Target group: Youth who are looking to gain new entrepreneurial skills to create turn their ideas into projects or business. Applicants can be individuals or teams.

Eight eligible winner startups competed in the larger Jordan Hackathon where projects were presented to sponsors for possible financial or technical assistance / incubation that helped them translate, develop and improve their initiatives into sustainable income generating projects and businesses that support the tourism sector sustainability, innovation, digitization, and green economy.
