RESTART MED workshop series on Jordan’s Sustainable Tourism Strategies and Policies Year: 2023-2024

RESTART MED aims to bring together existing policies, practices & products, public and private stakeholders engaged with sustainable tourism within the frame of Responsible Tourism. Building on existing products (and their identified stakeholders & outputs) from projects identified as “capitalizable” by the ENICBCMED Programme by bringing them together under a common brand that spans the various tourism niches of individual projects. The RESTART MED! approach includes: 1. promoting clustering of all relevant stakeholders in a destination; 2. promoting awareness of sustainability criteria and ways to integrate them; 3. re-vitalizing, re-marketing and replicating sustainable tourism products; 4. favoring the integration of these sustainability criteria in local, regional and national tourism policies and strategies.

TASUD managed and conducted the final workshop for Jordan’s Tourism Strategies and Policies bringing project’s stakeholders together. The outcomes of the workshop identified policies and strategies for developing sustainability in ; Urban and Archeological Sites in Jordan, Handicrafts in Tourism Sector, Rural Tourism, Waste Management in Tourism Sector, Digital Tourism and Over Tourism at destinations.
